With great pleasure, we invite UK students to apply for the University of Leeds Masters Scholarships, which aim to inspire independent students in the UK to study for graduate degrees.
These scholarships are supported by contributions from alumni and university finances.
About the University of Leeds
Located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, the University of Leeds is an established university. Once known as the Yorkshire College of Science, it was renamed to be known as Yorkshire College.
Later on, it absorbed the Leeds School of Medicine and joined Owens College, which subsequently became the University of Manchester, and University College Liverpool, which eventually grew into the University of Liverpool, as part of the federal Victoria University.
King Edward VII gave the University of Leeds a royal charter in 1904; the charter had been established in 1903.

Aim and Benefits of the University of Leeds Masters Scholarship
Leeds Masters Scholarships are meant to support underprivileged students who are eligible and willing to pay tuition in the UK to study for a master’s degree. The value of the scholarships is £7,000.
Requirements for University of Leeds Masters Scholarship Qualification
This does not guarantee that you will be given a scholarship; nevertheless, they will carefully review your application.
Main criteria
You must meet all of the three main criteria:
- At the University of Leeds, starts a master’s degree in September or October 2024 that is full-time, part-time, or online study (but not entirely online with the University’s Digital Education Service).
- An MA, MBA, MEd, MMus, Master of Public Health, MRes, MSc, LLM, or Masters by Research degree has to emerge directly from this. Please be aware that applicants for a University of Leeds Masters Scholarship who are pursuing the combined undergraduate and master’s program are not eligible.
- Paying tuition for postgraduate studies at the UK exchange rate.
- Should not have a master’s degree before.
Financial criteria
Applying for a Leeds Masters Scholarship requires meeting one of the following financial requirements in addition to all of the primary requirements.
If you graduated from full-time undergraduate education from 2021 onwards
You must be able to provide proof of the following:
- For students financed by Student Finance England, you must have received a Student Loan for at least one year of study that is bigger than or equivalent to the value(s) listed in the table below.

You must have received a Welsh Government Studying Grant of at least £4,000 during your one year of study, or you must have received any amount of a Special Support Grant’s assistance, Welsh Assembly Studying Grant, or SAAS Scholarship.
All other applicants
Evidence of individual gross taxable income for the 2022–2023 tax year must show that your income was not higher than £42,327 if you lived in the city of London area; or £28,764 if you lived anywhere else in England.
